In the 1970s, the ADDIE methodology was developed by Florida State University's Center of Educational Technology and the US armed forces for military training projects. Since then, it has been revised, improved, and adapted for development and training projects. The success of ADDIE for its test of time comes from its ability to separate the development phases and provide an efficient framework for the production of content.
The acronym ADDIE stands for Assess, Design, Development, Implement, and Evaluate.
A
assess
Analyze the needs, wants, and resources available to solve the problem.
D
design
Gather the findings and build a solution for the problem.
D

Create the content. Coordinate communication with all contributors.
I

Launch the content. Promote the release. Grant access to all users and support usage.
E
evaluate
Collect user feedback and problems. Identify wants, needs, and ideas for improvement.
